Who I am, and how to contact me...

I'm a bit of an entrepreneur - self employed and living in rural South-West France.  I'm a little nearer to 60 than to 50 but mentally still feel like 18.  The body, though, has degenerated a bit, what with a bad back, putting on a couple of stone in weight and undergoing a serious illness before moving to France. 

Professionally I have a BA in Politics from the University of Portsmouth and I have a certificate in Newspaper Journalism, though I have never worked full-time for a newspaper for more than a month.  I freelance from time to time and I write for some web sites other than my own, and edit yet more.

I've worked in HR and recruitment and I've dabbled in sales, tele-sales, driving tuition and a hundred other things.  I'm not one to look back too often and have always tried to take the positive from whatever I'm doing or have done and to play down any negative.

I don't see myself as a famous writer anytime soon - probably never.  But I would like to make a few bucks while trying to climb the slippery slope.

I recommend Helium as a place to post and maybe practice your writing.  There's a mix of good, bad and indifferent material, but it is judged by other writers, so climbing to the top of the pile is a nice filip, and also can earn you some (fairly small) bucks.

 

I speak French fluently, and offer a translation service for websites from French into English.  If you know anyone who may be interested, please put them in touch.  I also seek out French properties for sale (my day job as I call it) and try to match properties with buyers.
