Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word

"Sorry seems to be the hardest word", bleated Elton John in the good old days when you could understand the lyrics and he played the piano in tune.

Have you noticed how when bloggers stop blogging for a while they start with "Sorry I haven't blogged but...(my parrot is ill, mother in law fell off her broomstick, got food poisoning from green frogs ..pick your own excuse).

Well the Old Hack is finally moving to France - so my "live" blogs are going to be a bit sparce for the next ten days or so.  Am I sorry?  No.  Sorry seems to be the hardest word for me to describe the situation.  Sorry to be leaving behind the cold and damp for warm sunshine?  Sorry to be trading exorbitant council tax for twice weekly rubbish collection at less than half the price?  I don't think so!

This week will be spent largely in travelling the UKs motorways in all directions to visit and bid farewell to friends and family, in packing last minute belongings and (and for this I am a little sorry) discarding some of the miriad bits and pieces I've clung on to sentimentally for years, but don't really need.

I have a gizmo which apparently allows me to publish bits and pieces on given days and which I can set up in advance, so it's my intention to maybe post some of my favourite bits and pieces while I am unable to post "live".  I hope it will work, and whether or not it does, that you'll come back to my blog in a while.  23998_Night-of-Sorrow_620.jpg

The image I've chosen today is by an artist calling himself (or maybe herself) "Invisible Presence".  It was produced on a Nintendo, and is called 'Night of Sorrow'.  I liked it's simplicity, and I guess the black image on the blue background is a little mournful.  Once again, you can see it on picable.com  and if you click on the link, you may just earn the artist a couple of cents.

As sorry seems to be the hardest word, I'll just say "goodbye for now".
