How (and why) To Publish on This Site

I am operating this site as a platform for writers (including myself) to show their work.  I encourage you to publish your work on this site for several reasons.

  • Because this blog is regularly updated, it gets seen by a large number of people
  • If you publish on this site I will include YOUR advertising (see below for detail)
  • You can be sure that no profane or insulting material will appear on this site
  • Why make the rich even richer?  Let's all do it for ourselves!

What Can You Publish Here?

Send articles on any subject that turns you on.  Articles must be at least 200 words in length and of good, publishable quality.  Ideally you should optimise them for web use, to enable the Search Engines to find them and thereby ensure visitors actually see your work.  I will NOT publish everything that is sent to this site, but I will acknowledge receipt (don't forget to give your e-mail address) and will publish at my discretion.  Should your piece be selected for publication, I will let you know by e-mail and invite you to send me your advertising code.  Your piece will have its own dedicated page with YOUR advertising.  If you want to advertise your own business or a house for sale or whatever that's fine.  Just send me the copy once your article has been accepted for publication.

I'm currently specifically looking for articles about Southend on Sea.tn_Southend_06092007018.JPG

Images

You can also send in images which go with your piece or a particular photographic theme - but please don't send huge image files.  If you don't already have it, I suggest you download the programme Easy Thumbnails which is shareware and which enables you to 'shrink' images without losing lots of quality.

Just one more thing - if your photos include people who are identifiable, then it is essential that a disclaimer from the people in the photograph is obtained.  As this can be difficult, probably better to have pictures like the one above, where people are not easily recognised.  If the photo is of YOU, that's a different matter, but you should say so when you submit it.  Thanks.
